Turnberry Isle is getting an expansion and a makeover.
The 300-acre luxury resort in Aventura is adding a 16-story, 323-room building, to be called the Orchid Tower. The structure will be designed by the architectural firm Nichols, Brosch, Wurst, Wolfe and Associates.
The existing main lobby and building and other key facilities will receive upgrades. Upon completion, the resort will be rebranded as a JW Marriott, a luxury arm of the international hotel giant.
“This investment in Turnberry Isle ensures we continue to deliver the best experience and amenities to our guests and club members,” said Jeff Soffer, CEO and co-chairman of Turnberry Associates, the real estate developer that owns the resort. “We’re preserving the elements of Turnberry Isle that have made it an enduring and beloved destination, while adding features that keep the property at the cutting edge of service and style.”
