BANKS

At TotalBank:

▪  Silia Llanos has joined the company as senior vice president and private banker. She previously was vice president of private client banking for BankUnited.

▪ James R. Venney has joined the company as senior vice president and residential lending manager. He formerly was with EverBank. Venney attended Florida International University.

LAW

Joshua M. Stone has joined Bilzin Sumberg as a partner in the corporate group of the firm. He formerly was at Volta Global LLC, where he was chief compliance officer. Stone has a bachelor’s in psychology from Binghamton University and a J.D. from New York University.

Anthony Casareale and James Carenza , two former members of the real-estate group of Greenberg Traurig’s Miami office, have teamed up to form Casareale & Partners. The two recently opened the firm, at 1000 Brickell Ave., and will focus on representing institutional and individual clients in a range of real-estate transactions. Casareale has a bachelor’s from Fordham and a J.D. from New York University. Carenza has a bachelor’s and a J.D. from Fordham.

At Hinshaw & Culbertson:

▪ Karen A. Brimmer has been named co-partner-in-charge of the firm’s Miami office. She previously was a partner. Brimmer has a bachelor’s from the College of William & Mary and a J.D. from the University of Miami.

▪ Ronald L. Kammer has been named the firm’s insurance services practice group leader and co-partner-in-charge of the firm’s Miami office. He was previously the national business unit leader of the firm’s insurance practice and partner-in-charge of the Miami office. Kammer has a bachelor’s from Macalester College and a J.D. from UM.

LOBBYING

Nicole ‘Nikki’ Fried is launching her own practice, Igniting Florida LLC, focusing on government consulting and lobbying. Fried, a Broward County resident, will work with clients statewide. She is now a partner at Colodny Fass. Fried has a bachelor’s, master’s in political campaigning and J.D. from the University of Florida.

MALLS

Valerie Beaubrun has been named mall manager at Dadeland Mall. She will manage operations, maintenance and tenant relations and will also oversee security and marketing functions. Beaubrun most recently was mall manager at St. Johns Town Center in Jacksonville. She has a bachelor’s in business from Central Florida University.

COMMUNICATIONS/ MARKETING

Jenny Mackie has been named director of marketing at Westside Regional Medical Center. She previously was at Broward Health Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale, where she has been the patient-experience manager and interim marketing manager. Mackie has a bachelor’s in public relations from the University of Florida.

REAL ESTATE

Carla Conti has joined Weichert Corporate Housing as regional director of business development. The company, which is headquartered in Morris Plains, N.J., recently opened a regional center in Miami, where Conti will be based. Previously, she was vice president of operations for the company. Conti has a degree in management studies/business administration from Boston University.

Hugh Wiedman has been appointed chief financial officer of Lloyd Jones Capital, a private equity multifamily real estate firm headquartered in Miami. Previously, he was chief operating officer of Skyline Equities Realty LLC. Wiedman has a bachelor’s and an MBA from UM.

Mover’s spotlight

Name: Erick Cáceres

New position: Director of electronic banking at CenterState Bank. He’ll be based in the bank’s Biscayne branch in Homestead.

Previously: He has been electronic banking manager at Community Bank of Florida.

Also: Cáceres has been involved with fundraising for the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life and the March of Dimes. He has also volunteered in the K.A.P.O.W (Kids And the Power Of Work) program.

Education: Cáceres has a degree in finance and business administration from Florida International University.

Best advice he ever received: Have integrity in your personal and work life; it makes it really hard for someone to ever question you.
