Alejandro “Alex” Safie has been named enterprise risk manager for International Finance Bank. He will also continue as senior vice president, chief financial officer. Safie has a BBA in accounting and an MBA, both from the University of Miami.
Lynn Norman-Teck has been named executive director of the Florida Charter School Alliance, a nonprofit public charter school support and advocacy organization. Previously, she was director of communications for the Florida Consortium of Public Charter Schools. She has also been director of communications and press secretary for the Miami-Dade County mayor’s office and has been media relations manager for Miami-Dade County government. Norman-Teck is a Florida International University graduate.

Wolfgang Pinther has been named director of marketing at MBAF. Previously, he was marketing manager at Kaufman, Rossin & Co. Pinther has a bachelor’s in marketing, and an MBA, from Florida Gulf Coast University.
Thomas Scanlan has joined Provenance Wealth Advisors as a compliance and operations officer based in the firm’s Fort Lauderdale office. PWA is affiliated with the accounting and advisory firm Berkowitz Pollack Brant. He most recently worked at Investacorp Inc. in Miami. Scanlan has a bachelor’s in sociology from Rollins College.
Marvis “Ed” Price has been named chief nursing officer at Florida Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale. He most recently was chief nursing officer at Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center. Price, a retired U.S. Air Force major, has a bachelor’s in nursing from Northwestern State University in Louisiana and an MBA from Regis University in Denver.
Dr. Eneida Roldan has been named CEO of the FIU HealthCare network, which manages FIU Health, the clinical practice where FIU clinical faculty provide medical services. She had been interim CEO since June. She will also continue as the Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine’s associate dean for international affairs and as associate professor in the department of pathology. Before joining the college in 2009 as founding faculty, Roldan was the immediate past CEO and president of the Jackson Health System Public Health Trust; and prior to that, she was senior vice president, associate chief medical officer and chief administrative officer for Jackson Memorial Hospital.
Amaury Piedra has been named general manager of the Shelborne Wyndham Grand South Beach. Previously, he was complex general manager for Westin Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort & Spa and Sheraton Fort Lauderdale Beach Hotel.
Xingjian “Jeff” Zhao has been promoted to partner at Diaz Reus & Targ LLP. Based in the firm’s Shanghai and Miami offices, he specializes in handling complex dispute resolution matters. Zhao has a J.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Jenna Matthews has been named vice president of Durée & Company in Fort Lauderdale. Previously, she was at Weber Shandwick Boston. Matthews has a bachelor’s in public relations from the University of Syracuse.
Alfredo Ferrer has been named security director for Swire Properties Inc. and will oversee security operations at Brickell City Centre. He was previously director of PortMiami Seaport Law Enforcement, Safety and Security. Ferrer also spent five years as a police major with the Miami-Dade Police Department. He is also a reserve special agent with the Coast Guard Investigative Services. Ferrer is a graduate of Florida International University and the FBI National Academy.

Previous position: Director of institutional advancement at the Musical Instrument Museum in Phoenix. O’Brien developed and executed the strategic plan for the museum’s annual fundraising program and five-year sustainability and endowment campaigns, and launched the institution’s inaugural membership program. O’Brien was also the museum’s manager for individual giving, beginning with the founding of the institution in 2009.
Education: She has a bachelor’s in music and French from University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she was in the Phi Beta Kappa honor society. She has also studied flute at the Conservatoire Regional de Montpellier (France).
