Senior-level hires and promotions for the week of June 15, 2015



Tom Holgate has been named chief operating officer of SAFCo, a sub-prime automotive lending company based in Fort Lauderdale. He most recently was at American Credit Acceptance. Holgate has a bachelor’s in finance from Augustana College in Illinois and an MBA from the University of Iowa.


Jaime Moench has been named market director of sales and marketing for The Ritz-Carlton, South Beach and Bal Harbour, Miami. Previously she was director of sales and marketing.


Juan D. Morales has been named global practice leader for the logistics and transportation practice group of Stanton Chase, an executive search firm. He is the managing director of the Miami office. Previously, he was the logistics and transportation leader for the North and Latin American regions. Morales has a degree from Michigan Technological University.


Carlos F. Concepción and Ricardo H. “Rick” Puente, Latin America cross-border litigation and arbitration lawyers, have been named partners in the Miami office of Jones Day. Both were previously at Concepción Martinez & Puente and will be part of the firm’s global disputes practice. Concepción, who was managing partner of his former firm, has a J.D. from the University of Florida; Puente has a J.D. from Loyola University.


Anna Rossie-Alvarez has joined ONE Sotheby’s International Realty as commercial director. Previously she was South Florida director of operations at Cushman & Wakefield. Rossie-Alvarez studied psychology at Florida International University.

Dionna Brahs-Hall has been promoted to chief executive officer of the Realtors Association of the Palm Beaches. She previously was chief operating officer. Brahs-Hall is a Florida State University graduate.


Karen Chait Susman has been named director of education and youth engagement at Temple Israel of Greater Miami. Previously, she was director of activities at Augustine Landing, an independent living facility in Jacksonville. She has an advanced degree in early childhood education from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).


Peter Cadavieco is executive chef at Fish Fish Restaurant Market & Bar in Miami. He was the executive chef at Zoo Miami. Cadavieco trained at the Florida Culinary Institution in West Palm Beach.


Pamela Stolarz has been hired by RoboVault as business development manager for corporate and specialty services. She was most recently was vice president, branch manager at BankUnited.

Mover’s spotlight

Name: John R. Eder

New position: Chief financial officer at Seminole Gaming, operator of the Seminole Tribe of Florida’s seven casinos, including the Seminole Hard Rock Casinos in Tampa and Hollywood. He will have overall daily responsibility for finance, banking and investor relations, accounting, payroll, risk management, compliance, planning and analysis, cage, credit and purchasing for Seminole Gaming.

Previous position: Senior vice president of finance for Seminole Gaming.

Also: He sits on several strategic steering committees for Seminole Gaming, including executive, benefits, investment, information technology and compensation. Before joining Seminole Gaming, Eder was vice president-finance of Kerzner International, owner and operator of the Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas. He has also held management positions with Walt Disney World, Vesuvius USA and Coopers & Lybrand, now part of PwC.

Education: A certified public accountant, he has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Eastern Michigan University and an MBA from the Warrington College of Business Administration at the University of Florida.

Best advice he ever received: “The hardest part of a task is the last 5 percent that it takes to finalize or finish. Those that can stay focused on the task and finish it, will be successful. This is what separates good from great.”
