Hires and promotions for the week of May 25, 2015



Ronnie Moro has been named vice president and director of marketing at Marquis Bank in Coral Gables. She’ll oversee the bank’s corporate communications, public relations, advertising and community relations. Most recently she was director of marketing and public relations for Miami Plastic Surgery. Moro has a degree in communications with a concentration in public relations from the University of Miami.

Cindy Turner has been named vice president, business development officer for Landmark Bank’s Hollywood and Davie branches. Most recently she was vice president responsible for client relationships, business development and operations at the North Fort Lauderdale banking center of Bank of America.


Eric Czerniejewski has been named director of traffic engineering for the Fort Lauderdale office of Calvin, Giordano & Associates. He most recently was at Caltran Engineering Group Inc., where he was senior project manager.

Sandra Perez has been named vice president of marketing and business development at Curve Commercial, a supply chain finance corporation based in Miramar. She was previously vice president of administrative services for Regis HR Group. Perez has a bachelor’s in finance and marketing from Florida International University.


VITAS Healthcare in Broward has made two senior-level moves:

▪ Erika McCullough has been named senior director of market development. Previously she was director of market development in Broward County. She has a bachelor’s and a master’s degree from Robert Morris University.

▪ Jose Velez has been named director of market development. He previously was associate administrator and director of business development for Tenet Healthcare’s Coral Gables Hospital in Miami. He has a bachelor’s degree from FIU and a master’s from the University of Phoenix.


Leslie Weil has been named general manager of the Aloft South Beach. Previously she was general manager of Courtyard Marriott Miami at Dolphin Mall. Weil has a bachelor’s degree in hospitality management from FIU.


Steven Upshaw has been named CEO of Cross Country Home Services Inc. in Sunrise. He replaces Joseph J. Incandela, who is retiring. He previously was president and chief executive officer at Affinion Group Holdings, based in Stamford, Connecticut.


Stephen Walker has been promoted to partner from attorney at Critton, Luttier & Coleman. He practices marital/family law and complex commercial and construction litigation. Walker has a bachelor’s degree and a law degree from the University of Florida.

Felice C. Wagner has joined Berger Singerman as director of sales and business development. She will be in the firm’s Fort Lauderdale office. Most recently, she was chief business development officer at Sutherland Asbill & Brennan LLP. Wagner has a bachelor’s degree from the University of South Florida and a J.D. from Georgetown.

Mover’s spotlight

Name: Stephen Nostrand

New position: chief executive officer and chief operating officer at NAI Miami, which is a network of commercial real estate firms.

From: CEO of Colliers International South Florida.

Also: Nostrand is the third generation in his family to specialize in the commercial real estate industry. He is also an adjunct professor at the University of Miami’s master’s program for real estate development and urbanism, where he has taught since 2004 and was voted “Professor of the Year” in 2011.

Best advice he ever received: Be a great listener. No one ever learns anything when they are talking.
