Senior-level promotions and hires for the week of April 20, 2015



Donna Alonso has been named vice president and treasury management sales and service administrator at the Banking Center Division of TotalBank in Miami. She was director of cash management at Great Florida Bank.


Shawn Quill has been named chief financial officer at Gulf Building in Fort Lauderdale. Before joining the company, Quill was controller for Konover South and Sikon Construction Corp. in Deerfield Beach. Quill is a Certified Public Accountant and has a degree in business administration from American University in Washington, D.C., and a master’s in accounting from the Huizenga School of Business at Nova Southeastern University.


Joaquin Gonzalez Jr. has been promoted to president of Tire Group International (TGI) in Miami. Gonzalez joined TGI in 2006 after a successful football career, first with the University of Miami Hurricanes, and then in the NFL playing with the Cleveland Browns and the Indianapolis Colts.


Bahia Ramos, a veteran grant maker and nonprofit leader, has been named arts program director at the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation. Previously, she was Knight’s program director for community foundations, managing donor-advised fund investments across the country.


Memorial Healthcare System has promoted Marilyn Miceli to senior vice president of managed care. Previously she led Memorial’s managed care division and health plan operations. Before joining Memorial, she held a regional position with HCA/Columbia in South Florida.

Sandra Dilts was recently promoted to vice president of managed care for Memorial Healthcare System. Before the promotion, Dilts led other initiatives at Memorial, including Business Development & Physician Relations.


Laura Besvinick has joined Stroock & Stroock & Lavan as an insurance litigation partner in Miami, where she will represent insurers in a variety of disputes. Besvinick received her J.D., cum laude, from Harvard Law School, where she was an editor of the Harvard Law Review.

Jack T. Frost has joined the Fort Lauderdale office of Kelley Kronenberg as a partner, focusing on general and products liability and construction defect claims. Frost has a law degree from the University of Miami School of Law.


Wilma Maciel has been named vice president, content management and acquisitions, for Cisneros Media Distribution (CMD). In recent years, she was the vice president of programming, acquisitions, on-air planning and original productions for Sony Entertainment Television Latin America and senior executive programming and acquisition director for Warner Channel.


Shani Atapattu has been promoted to vice president at Overseas Cargo Inc. (ShipOCI), a third-party logistics provider headquartered in Miami. She served as the director of systems and pricing at the family-owned company.

New job: Partner in the Miami law office of Allen Norton & Blue.

From: Savage has been practicing labor and employment law with Allen Norton & Blue since 2006, representing management in federal and state litigation, as well as administrative and labor-related matters.

Education: Florida State University College of Law.

Also: Savage has been recognized as one of South Florida’s “40 under 40” Outstanding Lawyers by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. He is a member of the Phi Delta Phi international legal honor society as well as the Florida Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Cuban American Bar Association, the Young Lawyers Division of the Dade County Bar Association and the Florida Association of Police Attorneys.
