Todd Clarke has been promoted to new vice president and general counsel for Southeast Toyota Distributors and JM Lexus, businesses of parent company JM Family Enterprises in Deerfield Beach. Most recently, he was assistant vice president and deputy general counsel for Southeast Toyota. Clarke has a bachelor’s in finance from Florida State University and a J.D. from the University of Denver.

CONSTRUCTION

Paul Rooney has been named vice president of operations at Suffolk Construction. Previously, he was president of David Boland Inc., based in Titusville. Rooney has a bachelor’s in engineering from Cornell.

CRUISE LINES

Richard Miller has been named vice president of nautical and safety operations for Carnival Cruise Line. Before, he was in the U.S. Navy and most recently was chief of operations for U.S. Southern Command. His educational background includes a bachelor’s in ocean engineering from the United States Naval Academy and a master’s in international affairs.

EDUCATION

Elaine M. Wallace has been named dean of Nova Southeastern University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine. She was most recently executive associate dean, professor of osteopathic principles and practice, clinical professor for family medicine, and staff physician for NSU’s Sanford L. Ziff Health Care Center. Her education includes a doctorate of osteopathic medicine from the University of Health Sciences, Kansas City, Missouri.

HEALTHCARE

Ian Lee Brown has been named executive director at Covenant Village of Florida based in Plantation. Previously, he was senior vice president and COO of Christian Church Homes of Northern California in Oakland. He has a master’s degree in organizational behavior studies from Johns Hopkins University and a master’s in liberal studies from Lake Forest College.

Jeffrey P. Merritt has been named executive director of East Ridge at Cutler Bay, a life-care community. He was most recently administrator and executive director of a 361-unit community in Lawrence, Kansas. He has a bachelor’s in business administration from the University of Tennessee.

LAW

Mark E. Stein will be partner in the newly formed Mark Stein Law in Aventura. The firm emphasizes intellectual property law. Before, Stein was at Higher Lichter & Givner. He has a bachelor’s in English from Florida State University and a J.D. from the University of Florida.

PUBLIC RELATIONS

Will Candis has been named director of media relations at Vine Communications and will be based in New York City and Miami. Previously, he was principal at Candis Communications in New York. Candis, a onetime Miami Herald reporter, majored in journalism at Miami Dade College and the the University of Miami.

Jesse Manzano-Plaza has been named head of LSN Communications. Manzano-Plaza, who is in the Army National Guard, was campaign manager for Miami-Dade Mayor Carlos Gimenez and the Miami-Dade County Public Schools bond referendum.

HOUSING/REAL ESTATE

Lupe Mujica has been named national senior vice president of human resources at FirstService Residential, based in Dania Beach. Previously, she was vice president of human resources for FirstService Residential’s West division. The company restructured the department to oversee associates in 21 states and three Canadian provinces. Mujica is a graduate of Chapman University.

David Pulley has been named a director of luxury sales at Douglas Elliman in its developing sports and entertainment division and will be based in Miami Beach. Previously, he was at Opulence International Realty. Pulley has a bachelor’s in communications and advertising from the New York Institute of Technology.
