Isaac Lee, the CEO of Doral-based Fusion, the cable and online network owned by Univision Communications Inc. and aimed at the millennial audience, has been named to the newly created position of chief news, entertainment and digital officer for the company.
Lee, 45, will continue to oversee the Fusion Media Group, a multi-platform endeavor he spearheaded that is comprised of Fusion, El Rey Network and several popular English-language websites. Univision acquired a controlling stake in the sites — including The Onion, The Root, The A.V. Club and Clickhole — earlier this year.
UCI originated with the Spanish-language Univision television network, which is based in Doral. It now offers content aimed at the Hispanic audience in both English and Spanish. The company is seeking to go public later this year.
In the new position, Lee will oversee UCI’s news, entertainment, music and digital content across all platforms. He will continue to report to Randy Falco, president and chief executive officer of UCI.

“We have successfully transformed Univision into a multimedia industry leader and I look forward to working with our leadership team to further elevate our efforts and compete — and win — across platforms,” Lee said via a press release. “No one is better positioned than UCI to super-serve a diverse, rising America.”
