The Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce will be looking for a new president and CEO.
After a decade in the position, Barry Johnson has decided to retire at the end of 2016, according to chamber Chairman Christine Barney. He will continue advising the chamber’s South Florida Progress Foundation on a part-time basis through 2017.
Gene Schaefer, Bank of America’s chief market executive and the chamber’s first vice chair, will lead the replacement effort. A selection committee and search firm will aid in the search. The chamber’s full Board of Directors will vote on the final seleection.
