When the Philae spacecraft landed Wednesday on a speeding comet, it carried seven micro cameras, two computers and memory modules made by the French company 3D PLUS, a subsidiary of Miami-based HEICO. The Philae robot made its landing after a 10-year journey by its host aircraft, Rosetta. The mission was conducted by the European Space Agency. Saic HEICO co-president Victor Mendelson via e-mail, “While this doesn’t seem to excite people like the Heat winning another game, to us it’s far more exciting!”
