The recalled canned vegetables may have peanut in them, but you wouldn't know from the label

There's no problem with the canned leaf spinach in 13.5-ounce cans of Happy Harvest Spinach sold at Aldi. It's been recalled because there's a problem with the label.

The label doesn't include peanuts and there might be peanuts in the product. For most people, mislabeled product falls under the "minor annoyance" column. For those with food allergies or who cook for people with food allergies — in this case, peanut allergies — mislabeled product falls under "major mistake" with potentially serious consequences.

So, McCall Farms has recalled lot No. A23IX with a Best By date of January 2021. That lot went to Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Virginia, Wisconsin, and West Virginia. Also, it's available to Instacart customers in Chicago and Atlanta.

Consumers who want to return the product can do so for a full refund. Anyone with questions can contact McCall Farms via phone at 1-800-277-2012 or e-mail at customerservice@mccallfarms.com.
