Senior-level hires and promotions for the week of Aug. 21, 2017

EMIL R. INFANTE has joined Holland & Knight’s Miami office as a partner and member of the firm’s corporate and Latin America practices.

ACCOUNTING

Camila Cote has been named Miami office managing partner at EY. She was previously an assurance partner for the firm. Cote has a bachelor’s in business administration, accounting from the University of Miami.

Vanessa Duran has been promoted to principal at DCC Accounting, which provides accounting and other services to small and mid-sized companies. Duran was previously vice president, operations at the firm, which is based in Coral Gables. She has a bachelor’s of business administration from Florida International University.

BANKS

Amado Peñate has been named senior vice president and manager of the Brickell Wealth Management team at Ocean Bank. He was previously with SunTrust Bank, where he was managing director and senior vice president. Peñate has a bachelor’s in business management and finance from Barry University.

EDUCATION

Rachel Griffin has been named principal of the primary school (PreK3-Sr.K) and lower school (grades 1-4) at Gulliver. She was head of lower school at Léman Manhattan Preparatory School in New York. Griffin’s degrees include a master’s from Bank Street College of Education and a master’s from the Teachers College at Columbia.

At Scheck Hillel Community School, Cecilia Grano De Oro and Alexandra Gonzalez have been named co-directors of college counseling.

▪ Grano De Oro was a college counselor at The Sagemont School in Weston. She has a bachelor’s, a master’s in mental health counseling and a master’s in higher education from the University of Miami.

▪ Gonzalez was an admissions counselor at Tulane, where she received a bachelor’s.

FINANCIAL/HEALTH SERVICES

Ivonne Garrote-Torra has been named vice president of finance at Premier Assurance Group (PA Group), headquartered in Coral Gables. She was previously the vice president of finance for Hygea Health Holdings in Doral. Garrote-Torra has a bachelor’s in accounting from FIU.

LAW

Bruce S. Liebman has joined Kaufman Dolowich & Voluck as an employment practices liability partner. He will be co-managing partner of the firm’s Fort Lauderdale and Boca Raton offices. He was previously at Fowler White Burnett PA. Liebman has a bachelor’s from Tulane and a law degree from Nova Southeastern University.

NONPROFITS

Jessica Rodriguez has been promoted to chief marketing and development officer at Arc Broward. She was previously director of development at the organization, which seeks to provide opportunities for people with disabilities and other life challenges to realize their full potential. Rodriguez has a bachelor’s in business administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT

Gregory Giananti has joined Berger Commercial Realty/CORFAC International as a project manager at the company’s Miramar office. He was previously project manager and field construction manager at McKenzie Construction in Miami. Giananti has a bachelor’s in computer design from The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale.

Name: Emil R. Infante

New position: He has joined Holland & Knight’s Miami office as a partner and member of the firm’s corporate and Latin America practices.

From: Partner with DLA Piper.

Also: Infante has been managing partner of the boutique firm Infante Zumpano. At Holland & Knight, his corporate practice touches upon cross-border mergers and acquisitions transactions, financial services and financial regulation, and international dispute resolution. He also has experience with the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, anti-corruption, anti-money laundering investigations and compliance within the United States and Latin American markets. He is a member of the Consejo Empresarial de America Latina (CEAL), an organization of more than 500 private entrepreneurs.

Education: Infante has a bachelor’s from Sacred Heart University in Connecticut, a master’s from the University of Dayton, a J.D. degree from St. Mary’s University and an LL.M. from Georgetown.

Best advice he ever received: My parents always told me that money comes and goes, but no one can take away your education and your reputation. Guard those with your life.
