The Florida Lottery said Monday it hit record sales volume of $4.45 billion.
The sales were the highest in the quarter century that the lottery has been in existence, exceeding last year’s sales by more than $440 million. Scrath-off sales also broke an all-time Florida Lottery record.
Record sales translate into more money for Florida’s student. The Florida Lottery expects to transfer $1.31 billion to Florida’s Education Trust Fund, an all-time record. The fund provides money for the Bright Futures Scholarship Program for college students, school construction projects and financing of K-12 programs.
The Florida Lottery’s success is attributed to the agency’s efforts to expand and revive its selection of games. During the fiscal year, the Lottery introduced nearly 50 new Scratch-Off games, including WHEEL OF FORTUNE®, GUY HARVEY®, MONOPOLY™ and LUCKY FOR LIFE Scratch-Off games.
