Gospel Stage Play “Choir Boy”

March 6 – 8, The Historic Lyric Theater, 810 NW 2nd Ave, Miami

The Black Archives in partnership with GableStage present three free shows of the hit Gospel stage play, Choir Boy, written by Miami native, Tarell Alvin McCraney. Choir Boy tells the story of five young men enrolled at the prestigious Charles R. Drew Prep School for Boys. When one of them is named leader of the school’s celebrated gospel choir, the sweet harmonies of classical spirituals contrast with the bristling  tensions that arise.
