Filling Empty Bowls Dinner:

Artists, art students and community volunteers create and donate decorative bowls, which are used to serve soup at the dinner. The annual event benefits LifeNet4Families and Cooperative Feeding Program. Vegalicious Scholarship Contest:

Sublime restaurant in Fort Lauderdale and Whole Foods Market invite vegan recipes from seniors enrolled in a Broward, Palm-Beach or Miami-Dade high school for the 2010-2011 school year. Recipes must be submitted online by April 15 and include a photo of dish. Three finalists will be selected and notified by April 22. Finalists must prepare and bring their dishes to Sublime, 1431 N. Federal Hwy., Fort Lauderdale, at 5:30 p.m. on May 1 for judging. Grand prize is a $5,000 check. Runners-up receive $500 graduation dinners at Sublime. Details at
