Rum Renaissance Festival 2011

Rum lovers, are you seeking an event that will quench your thirst for a taste of your favorite spirit? The third-annual Rum Renaissance Festival is just the ticket, featuring 100 rums from around the globe at the Deauville Beach Resort in Miami Beach (6701 Collins Ave.). The week-long celebration kicks off April 25 with the launch of the Zombie Jamboree party sponsored by DonQ rum from Puerto Rico at the Mai-Kai in Fort Lauderdale (3599 N. Federal Highway), and will culminate with the official Grand Tasting Event and Island Lifestyle Showcase at the Deauville Beach Resort from April 30 to May 1.

Here are some key events which you can be a part of this year:

Zombie Jamboree

The Zombie Jamboree is held on April 25 from 5 – 7 p.m and is sponsored by DonQ rum from Puerto Rico. The event kicks off the week-long festival by celebrating the infamous “Zombie Cocktail” at the Mai-Kai Polynesian restaurant. The event explores the colorful history of the cocktail and includes tastings of historical and contemporary variations of the iconic tiki culture libation. Rum V.I.P. Parties

Seeking a V.I.P. experience? Unique rum-themed VIP parties will be held all around Miami from April 26 -29 featuring leading rum sponsors which will surely tickle your tastebuds. Premier VIP passes for all access to these exclusive parties are available online for $250 at www.rumrenaissance.com.

Grand Tasting Event

The main event, held from April 30 to May 1 from 2 – 8 p.m. welcomes guests to explore and discover more than 100 rums from the Caribbean and around the world with tastings and seminars. This two-day event will be hosted in the Richelieu Ballroom at The Deauville Beach Resort. Tickets to the Grand Tasting are available for $25 per day.
