Your dad always told you to keep a piggy bank for a rainy day – well, time to get your hammer out, the monsoon is here. And although dad may have had different ideas for your spare change, we can’t think of a better way to spend it than a mind-numbing, recession-friendly night out at Quarterdeck South Beach.
Fittingly coined “Cry in Your Beer” night, the low-key bar and seafood grill dishes out quarter beers every Tuesday from 9:25 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. The convenient Alton Road location even has a back parking lot allowing you to save your meter change for more rounds. Ladies receive a free martini upon arrival to reminisce about their glamorous days of overpriced drinks. And while there are several beers on tap, the 25 cent variety includes all Budweiser brews: Budweiser, Bud Lite, Michelob Ultra and Rolling Rock to name a few.

Adding a little SoBe scene into the mix, Big Apple DJ Short-E sets up shop in the corner (underneath the hammerhead shark) and spins remix versions of ’90s pop favorites. After bobbing your head a few times to “What is Love?” move over to the two beer pong tables strategically located next to the bar and challenge your equally broke friends or booth neighbors to a friendly game. And if quarter beers aren’t enough, Quarterdeck also throws in a complimentary raffle so you can wake up with more than a hangover.
“We hope to create a weekly gathering with a casual block party atmosphere where our local customers and their friends and associates can meet, relax, have fun and commiserate the hard times together at recession beating prices,” said Quarterdeck South Beach’s Managing Partner, Sean Maher.
We’ll drink to that.
