The biggest news for sports fans during MLB All-Star Week 2017 was the tough pitching witnessed during the All-Star Game. With only three runs scored, the game was a stark contrast to the previous day’s Home Run Derby, a joyous celebration of bat and ball connecting won by New York Yankees phenom Aaron Judge.
The real fun during the week celebrating America’s favorite pastime was celeb spotting, though.

We had a grand old time following Alex Rodriguez. The retired MLB star popped up like Pokémon all around Miami, sometimes accompanied by his latest boo, the flawless Jennifer Lopez.
The couple did a lap at the MLB FanFest on Sunday at the Miami Beach Convention Center, where autographs were signed and fans were awed by JLo. The couple also dined at Prime 112, the swank SoFi steakhouse where the couple has dined previously. Rodriguez hosted the Fox Sports crew of Joe Buck, Frank Thomas, John Smoltz and Kevin Burkhardt. After dinner, the couple partied at the 2017 New Era Cap x MLB All-Star Party at 1 Hotel’s Beachcraft.

We also caught up with A-Rod on Tuesday morning in Kendall, this time without his lady friend, where he presided over a ceremony to celebrate the refurbishment of the baseball field at Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade’s Kendall club.
The biggest constellation of stars came together for Sunday’s Celebrity All-Star Softball Game at Marlins Park. Before the game, stars like Jamie Foxx, Miles Teller and Justin Hartley from NBC’s “This is Us” swung in the batting cages outside, trying not to melt from the heat.
“OK I’m done. I’m hot,” said Oscar-winning actor Jamie Foxx, as he retreated inside an air conditioned tent set up for VIPs.
After the Celebrity Softball Game, Teller, his girlfriend Keleigh Sperry and his family celebrated at the All-Star Bash at Ora Nightclub. Jamie Foxx and “How to Get Away with Murder” star Billy Brown were also spotted hanging at the Miami Beach club until the wee hours.
Another Oscar winner was in town for the festivities, and she had a few comments about Miami’s heat. Actress/singer Jennifer Hudson performed Saturday night at the Masterpass House, a VIP lounge for Master Card holders set up at the W South Beach for the weekend.
“It’s hot as hell!” Hudson said as she took the stage and belted out fan faves, including songs from “Dreamgirls.” Someone should have told her not to wear black leather in Miami in July.
Other exciting news that emerged during All-Star Week was the fact that Pitbull, who provided the entertainment for Monday’s Home Run Derby, was now joining Jeb Bush and other investors in a bid for the Miami Marlins.
We also caught Pit’s co-headliner, Lenny Kravitz, rehearsing for his set in Wynwood on Monday.
