Shocker: Tamara Mellon isn’t all about the shoes these days.
The famed cofounder of Jimmy Choo sold the luxury goods company in 2011, and started an eponymous lifestyle label.

Latest obsession? Jumpsuits.
“They’re so versatile; that’s what is so great about them,” said the 47-year-old NYC resident who stopped by Neiman Marcus Coral Gables earlier this month to present her 2015 resort collection.
The British fashionista says much of the inspiration for her latest line came from slithery reptiles. “I’m loving snake print,” says Mellon. “It’s always exotic, daring and fun.”
No matter what Mellon does with her career, the designer — whose costly stilettos became synonymous with HBO’s style driven comedy Sex and the City — can’t avoid the topic of footwear.
Her shoes — which carry names like Bad Girl, Trouble Maker and Black Widow — are no doubt her first love. The higher and sexier, the better.
A recent favorite? “Well, there’s this crazy thigh high boot I did that is made of black stretch suede and I laser cut it to make it look like fish net stockings.” Its name is not suitable for publication, but you can shop for the edgy so called cage style worn by Alessandra Ambrosio at the 2014 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in London earlier this month on tamaramellon.com. You’ll have to part with $2,495 to own them, though.
And trends? According to Mellon, platforms will start emerging on the racks. “Yes, we aren’t rid of them!” she predicts, laughing. “But we’ll see them in a different, more casual way — more like the block heels of the ’70s.” A ray of sunshine for South Floridians: “You guys are lucky. Neon and other bright colors are always acceptable.”
