Plain and simple, Hermès knows how to throw a party.
On Thursday night, the French luxury design house put on a shindig for the ages at Soho Studios in Wynwood to celebrate its flagship store opening in the Design District; the lavish, over the top festivities were rumored to have cost $2 million.

Inside the vast space, spiffy waiters passed haute hors d’ouevres like braised beef cheeks, quail eggs and tuna tartare. Champagne and mojitos were flowing.
The general theme was 1950s Cuba, so attendees (like Real Housewives of Miami castmate Lisa Hochstein) were also treated to full bars replete with pressed sandwiches, ceviche and empanadas.
While a raucous salsa band played on, adult fun was to be had in all corners — in one room, guests played ping pong in high heels and suits, while others tried their luck on old-school pinball machines.
Gorgeous models walked around in colorful costumes while a ballerina twirled solo on a stage and another rested upon a giant crescent moon.
According to a spy, planning for this grand fiesta started five months ago and was staged by Culver City, California, events company Bounce AEG, which, according to its website is known for “unique experiences” that “generate buzz and create a lasting impact.”
