Remember those rumors that Maksim Chmerkovskiy was romancing Jennifer Lopez? Well, those rumors were put to rest Saturday night when the professional dancer popped the question to his Dancing with the Stars coworker Peta Murgatroyd on stage Saturday night during the final Miami performance of Sway: A Dance Trilogy at the Olympia Theatre downtown.
According to eyewitnesses, Chmerkovskiy, 35, got down on one knee in traditional fashion and said, “I’m in love with you and I want to be in love with you for the rest of my life. Will you marry me?”

Murgatroyd, 29, looking shocked but elated, said yes, as the audience and fellow cast members cheered.
The congratulations came pouring in on social media’ e.g.: DWTS ballroom dancer Sharna Burgess posted a pic of the couple kissing right afterward, captioning it: “So this just happened!!!! Ahhhhh I’m so excited for my loves!!@maksimc and @petamurgatroyd it’s about bloody time!!!!”
The two have history: The handsome Ukranian (previously engaged to another costar, Karina Smirnoff) and gorgeous Kiwi dated in 2012 for 10 months but he reportedly broke up with Murgatroyd two months before Valentine’s Day in 2013. Nice to see it all worked out in the end.
