What’s a little torrential rain? Eva Longoria managed to look flawless Thursday night showing up at the Related Group’s Auberge Residences & Spa sales office, 1400 Biscayne Blvd., in a sexy green lacy cut-out dress by Maria Lucia Hohan, not one hair out of place, not one lash smudged.
The star of the upcoming NBC show Telenovela had good reason for braving the elements: Longoria, along with Ricky Martin, was helping to launch the Global Gift Foundation: Miami, an organization providing education and entrepreneurship opportunities to women. “I have an older sister who had special needs,” said the native Texan of Elizabeth, who has a developmental disability. “I grew up understanding what it was to give back.”

The event, hosted by TV personality Michael Yo, raised more than $200,000 to benefit the charity as well as Martin and Longoria’s namesake foundations. Longoria and Martin later honored megadeveloper Jorge Pérez as “Philanthropreneur of the Year” for his support of the arts.
In the crowd: hip hop legend Russell Simmons, Alonzo Mourning, Larsa and Scottie Pippen, Eva’s Telenovela co-star Jencarlos Canela, and her BFF Loren Ridinger.
