Were you looking for Pitbull on New Year’s Eve? He was in Miami, staying warm

We had a little bit of our own Times Square right here in Miami, without temperatures in the teens.

Pitbull lit up his very own New Year’s Eve special on Sunday night at Bayfront Park downtown, a few weeks after losing his nationally televised Fox gig, which was taken over by Steve Harvey.

As part of its broadcast special “¡Feliz 2018!” (Happy 2018!), Univision aired highlights of Pitbull’s Worldwide New Year’s Eve celebration and some of his fans weren’t happy that Harvey took over and were wondering where Mr. Worldwide was.

He was fine, though. Actually more than fine.  Pitbull, a Miami native, was busy enjoying our balmy climes.

“New Year’s Eve has been happening in Times Square for I don’t know how many years… God bless them,” Pitbull told the crowd. “You got to look at where you’re at right now. You’re bringing in 2018 with under 70-degree weather. You’re bringing in 2018 in a way that the rest of the world wish they could. So I want you to appreciate. I want you to be grateful. And I want you to be proud.”

Mariah Carey may want to trade places with Mr. 305 next year.

The pop singer performed in New York City simultaneously and was reduced to asking for hot tea to warm her core.

And host Harvey had to wear a really strange outfit to keep himself from turning into an icicle.

Speaking of outfits, Pitbull proved himself to be the dapper rapper he is, wearing a sleek black tuxedo and performed two interventions during the broadcast, which included musical numbers by Banda El Recodo, Bad Bunny, Bronco, Carlos Vives, Chiquis, Chyno, Ha*Ash, Karol G, Leslie Grace, Luis Coronel, Mau and Ricky, Olga Tañón and Sebastián Yatra from New York City, Disney California Adventure, Las Vegas, and San Antonio.
