Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino hosted a press conference on Monday afternoon to announce Nick Cannon as the 2015 Grand Marshal of the Seminole Hard Rock Winterfest Boat Parade.

Last year’s Grand Marshal, Flo Rida, passed the baton and did the honors, which Cannon accepted via video message.

“It’s important that you’ve got somebody that gets it,” said WInterfest president/CEO Lisa Scott Founds, of her choice, who is a “mulitgenerational” entertainer with a big personality. “That waterway is going to rock with him.”

Mariah Carey’s ex will lead the Parade along the New River in Fort Lauderdale on Saturday, Dec.12, starting at 6:30 p.m. starting downtown.

Flo said he admired the TV personality’s “drive, his work ethic,” and that he inspires and teaches the rapper each and every day.

The theme is “Fairytales Afloat.”

Past marshals have included Donald Trump, Kim Kardashian, Shaq, Barry Gibb and Joan Rivers.

Entry fees from $35. Info:
