Have what it takes to be Miami’s next skyline dancer? This hotel is looking for you

Think you have what it takes to be a fixture in Miami?

The InterContinental Miami is looking for you. The downtown hotel is still looking for its next skyline dancer.

Contestants can submit their videos via the hotel’s Facebook page or directly at

If you win, you’ll snag a spot on Miami’s biggest stage. The hotel’s sixth annual digital “dance off” contest will award a winner his or her very own nightly cameo on the building’s 19-story LED canvas.

Participants ages 16 and up can submit a tryout video online. The prize also includes $1,000 cash and a complimentary weekend stay at the hotel.

And of course – bragging rights for the entirety of 2019 when their dance moves are visible from miles away.

The tradition began in December 2012. Disgraced “Entourage” star Jeremy Piven was hired to flip the switch and unveil the enormous image of the dancer alongside the 19-story property. But the actor backed out at the last minute, saying the lithe, sexy, dancing woman was “bad for his image.”

The display has managed to stay popular despite Piven’s lack of support. Former dancers have gone on to have great careers, such as model Jay Marcos, who sadly died last year.

“It’s been far more successful than we ever thought,” general manager Robert Hill told WLRN in 2013. “People are talking about it, and when people are talking about your hotel it’s a good thing.”
