OK, so it’s not the six-acre Kennedy compound in Hyannis Port, Massachusetts, but the recently minted Mr. and Mrs. Robert F. Kennedy Jr. (aka actress Cheryl Hines) have bought a compound in Malibu for $4.995 million.
The fenced property of close to an acre features an East Coast-inspired barn-style main house, a guesthouse, a pool house, a recording studio, a refrigerated wine shed and mature fruit trees.
There are four bedrooms, three bathrooms and a media room in the 2,959-square-foot main house; a fireplace and another bathroom in the guesthouse; and a sleeping loft, kitchen and shower in the pool house.
A fire pit, a built-in barbecue, a storage barn, expanses of lawn and a two-story treehouse complete the grounds.
Attorney-activist-falconer Kennedy, 60, and Hines, 48, were married in August at the family compound in Hyannis Port.
She was on Suburgatory since it began in 2011 until its recent cancellation and had a more than a decade-long role on Curb Your Enthusiasm before that. Hines will star next year in the comedy Stuck.
FIANCEE DITCHES BACHELORETTE PAD
Ashton Kutcher fiancee Mila Kunis sold her home in Hollywood Hills West for $3.825 million.
The Mediterranean-style house was built in 1958 but recently redone. High ceilings, an open floor plan and a state-of-the-art security system are among the features.
An eight-seat home theater, a breakfast bar, an office, five bedrooms and five bathrooms are part of the 4,900 square feet of living space.
Outdoor amenities on the one-third-acre site include a cabana, an outdoor bar, a deck and a swimming pool with a spa. There are city and mountain views.
Kunis, 31, has been on That ’70s Show (1998-2006) and the animated Family Guy (1999-present). She starred in the 2014 film The Angriest Man in Brooklyn and last year’s Third Person.
The property previously sold in 2008 for $2.885 million.
BOONE LISTS IN BEVERLY HILLS
Crooner Pat Boone has quietly put his longtime home in Beverly Hills up for sale at $18.5 million.
Scant information about the off-market listing indicates that the house has about 7,000 square feet of living space, sits on a more than acre of land and has been in the family for 55 years.
The two-story home is described in tax records as a contemporary with two fireplaces, six bedrooms and seven bathrooms.
Built in 1939, the hip-roofed house has covered patio space and a three-car garage. There’s also a swimming pool, mature trees and an expanse of lawn.
Boone, 80, gained popularity as a pop singer in the 1950s and ’60s. He is also known for his country and gospel singing. His television and film work has spanned decades and includes time as the host of The Pat Boone Chevy Showroom series starting in the late ’50s, acting credits and soundtrack performances. He wrote the theme song for the 1960 film Exodus.
COMPOUND HAS CELEBRITY HISTORY
Leading man Jake Gyllenhaal has listed his gated compound in Hollywood Hills for sale at $3.5 million.
The single-story home, built in 1948, sits on nearly two acres with a detached office. The 2,826 square feet of living space opens to a swimming pool. There are vaulted beamed ceilings, a den, a family room, three bedrooms and three bathrooms.
Gyllenhaal, 33, will play the lead in the upcoming thriller Nightcrawler and has starred in such films as Source Code (2011), Zodiac (2007) and Brokeback Mountain (2005).
He bought the celebrity-pedigree property in 2005 for $2.5 million. Among former owners is Michael Balzary, aka Flea of the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
PRODUCER BUYS CRAFTSMAN HOME
David Arquette, executive producer of Cougar Town, has fallen bought an early-1900s Craftsman home more than twice his age in the Windsor Square area of Los Angeles for $7.15 million.
Charms of the beautifully restored Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument include handcrafted mahogany doors that open to a wood-paneled foyer and six fireplaces that serve as a reminder of a time when they were used for heating.
Some 9,700 square feet of living space includes formal living and dining rooms, a den, a family room, a bar, seven bedrooms and eight bathrooms.
The three-quarter-acre grounds contain mature trees, lawn, a swimming pool with a spa, and a pond.
ACTRESS’ HOME IS FULL OF CHARACTER
Actress Annie Potts has listed her home in Tarzana at $6.495 million.
Built in 1934, the restored Spanish hacienda-style house is a single story with a rustic clay tile roof and flagstone paths and patios. Among features of the 6,481 square feet of living space are a stained-glass wall in the family room, interior archways, exposed beam ceilings, colorful tile work, two fireplaces, five bedrooms and six bathrooms.
A detached guesthouse has a living room, a bedroom and a bathroom.
Two pools and a paddle tennis court complete the nearly 1.5 acres of grounds.
Potts, 61, is known to television and film audiences for her roles in Designing Women (1986-93), two Ghostbusters films (1984 and 1989) and, more recently, the series The Fosters.
Potts bought the property in 2003 for $2.5 million, public records show.
