Academy Award-winning actor Sean Penn has listed his retreat in Malibu for sale at $6.55 million.
The gated single-story ranch-style home, built in 1960, is laid out in a U-shape with courtyard space suited to entertaining. A detached guesthouse shares the 1.4-acre site.
Beyond the double doors of the main house are a formal entry, living and dining rooms and a kitchen that opens to a family room. Architectural details include vaulted beamed ceilings. There are a total of five bedrooms and five bathrooms.
A maid’s room/office is adjacent to the garage. The motor court can accommodate 10 cars.
A swimming pool, terraced gardens, mature trees and lawn complete the grounds.
Penn, 54, won his Oscars for Milk (2008) and Mystic River (2003). His large body of work includes The Secret Life of Walter Mitty (2013), Dead Man Walking (1995) and The Falcon and the Snowman (1985). His current film is The Gunman.
The twice-married Penn is dating actress Charlize Theron. His ex-wives are singer Madonna and actress Robin Wright.

Marc Anthony continues to cut a wide swath with his real estate dealings, this time selling an amped-up home in THE San Fernando Valley’s Encino neighborhood for $2.425 million.
Indoor and outdoor bars, a resort-like backyard, a home theater and a wine room are among features of the entertainment-oriented house. The contemporary Mediterranean, built in 1988, also features an art studio, a billiard room and a gym.
The master suite has a spa-like bathroom and a fireplace for a total of six bedrooms and nine bathrooms in 6,263 square feet of living space.
A swimming pool with a spa, a pool house, a gazebo and a fire pit complete the nearly half acre of grounds.
Anthony, in his mid-40s, is a two-time Grammy winner and a five-time Latin Grammy winner. He is launching his own entertainment company, Magnus Media, with a focus on the Latino market.
The salsa singer is the ex-husband of singer-actress Jennifer Lopez, who in late January listed a home in Hidden Hills that they had purchased together for sale at $17 million.
Anthony, married last year to model Shannon de Lima, bought a Tarzana home at the beginning of the year for $4.125 million.
The singer also is selling an estate in Long Island, New York. The asking price was cut by $2.5 million this month to $9.5 million.

Tommy Shaw of Styx has listed a Hollywood Hills home for sale at $1.95 million.

Fashion designer Max Azria has listed his Maison du Soleil in the Holmby Hills area at $85 million.

The two-story main house was built in 1938 and has been updated. Old World details include beamed ceilings and a Juliet balcony.
The 3,175-square-foot interior space contains a large living room with a wood-burning fireplace, a dining room and a family room/home theater. There is a master suite, with high ceilings and another fireplace, for a total of four bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms.
