Q. Dr. Wolf, I have had three rhinoplasties and no matter what I’ve done they have not corrected the depression on the right side of my nose. Is there anything I can do without surgery?
A. The short answer is yes. I recently took care of a patient who had had four rhinoplasties. She wanted to have one more to try to correct her crooked nose. Because of the ease in which fillers can work to correct this problem, I suggested to her that she undergo this procedure. By using fillers, such as Restylane or Juvederm, your physician may be able to correct your particular deformity.
The procedure that I am talking about is a nonsurgical rhinoplasty, a very common and now very popular procedure. It’s a procedure that may take 10 to 20 minutes maximum to correct a deformity that many patients have had all their lives.

Prior to injecting the filler, an anesthetic cream is placed over the area. Soon after, the physician injects the filler material into the defect. This is not to say that rhinoplasty procedures are no longer being done. This procedure merely makes it easier for someone to correct their deformities without a surgery.
One major advantage of modern aesthetic treatments is that we can now do procedures that we couldn’t do before without surgery. In addition, the treatments we now have may last from 6 to 18 months without having to repeat them. While this is an easy procedure for the patient, it is imperative that you select a doctor who understands the anatomy and complications that occur from this procedure.
