Negative stereotypes about aging linked to increased Alzheimer's risk

Results were observed in the nation’s longest-running scientific study of aging

Researchers found that the volume of the hippocampus declined by three times as much among those who hold negative stereotypes about aging, compared to those who do not

The subjects were interviewed about their views on aging long before the onset of dementia
