Gameday Grub: Guide to new food and returning fan favorites at Sun Life Stadium

The gridiron may be stacked, and so are the food options.

If you flounder (see what we did there?) your way around the sections of Sun Life Stadium during a Miami Dolphins home game this season, expect a throng of new eats, from smoked wings to a popular local steak sandwich.

Here is our quarter-by-quarter breakdown of what to try that’s new, plus an overtime of returning favorites.

First Quarter

You’re eating: Sausage and peppers

Price: $10

Location: Sections 118, 146, 418 and 446

Good for sharing? No

Mini review: Maybe you skipped breakfast and missed the tailgate. Not to worry; this sausage and pepper collaboration will bring you up to speed. Besides the namesake ingredients, grilled onions and diced potatoes are stuffed in baked-in-house bread.

Second Quarter

You’re eating: Bru’s wings

Price: $10

Location: Section 154

Good for sharing? Yes

Mini review: Former Dolphins linebacker Bob “Bru” Brudzinski is back in the stadium with an outpost of his Broward County sports-bar haven (coming to Miami-Dade soon on Bird Road). Bru’s wings, tossed in either a tangy BBQ or spicy hot sauce, are finger-sticking good.

Halftime

You’re eating: Cold Stone Creamery

Price: $6

Location: Sections 115, 143, 213, 242, 414 and 443

Good for sharing? No

Mini review: It’s hot out there. Thankfully, Cold Stone’s ice cream comes in personal-size containers, lid and all, and in three flavors: Dark Chocolate Devotion, Founders Favorite and Cake Batter.

Third Quarter

You’re eating: BurgerFi cheeseburger

Price: $10

Location: Section 130

Good for sharing? No

Mini review: Yes, you a 6.6-ounce, all-natural, hormone-free cheeseburger, with fresh lettuce, tomatoes and BurgerFi sauce on a potato roll for $10 in a major-league stadium. It leaves your palate happy and your wallet intact for, say, a beer.

Fourth Quarter

You’re eating: Cuban Guys steak sandwich

Price: $10

Location: Section 425

Good for sharing? Yes

Mini review: What’s Miami without pan con bistec? Find South Florida chain Cuban Guys’ deluxe version at the stadium this season: seasoned palomilla steak topped with mayonnaise, lettuce, tomatoes and a pile of shoestring fries all held together with fresh Cuban bread.
