Police arrested a man they say broke into a Pembroke Pines home Tuesday morning.
The homeowner called 911 at about 11 a.m. Tuesday when he saw a man in his home, in the 800 block of Southwest 70th Avenue, over video surveillance, police said. When Pembroke Pines police arrived with dogs, the man inside — later identified as 24-year-old Calvin Whiting — refused to come outside.
With help of police dogs, police later took Whiting into custody on a burglary charge. He was taken to Memorial Regional for treatment for cuts from a police dog bite.
