A dead man, originally thought to be a mannequin on fire outside a Michaels store, was identified Wednesday by Pembroke Pines police as Joshua Michael Daniel Mason, 23, of Miami-Dade.
Mason was identified via dental records, police said.
A 911 caller alerted the emergency line at 6:55 a.m. Monday that a mannequin was burning outside the Michaels at 11300 Pines Blvd. in Pembroke Pines. Upon arrival, the city’s fire department determined that what the caller reported as a mannequin aflame actually was a man, by then dead.
Police said it does not appear the incident was criminal.
