Neymar vs. James Rodriguez, in Miami.
It seems that a dream matchup awaits local soccer fans Sept. 5 at Sun Life Stadium. New Brazil coach Dunga announced his roster for Brazil’s exhibition match against Colombia, and it includes superstar Neymar, whose World Cup was cut short by a back injury. Nine other players from Brazil’s World Cup team are also on the roster, including Hulk, Oscar and David Luiz. Among the players Dunga dropped from the team are Julio Cesar, Dani Alves, Fred, Dante, Paulinho, Jo and Marcelo. Dunga added Phillipe Coutinho (Liverpool), Miranda (Atletico Madrid) and Brazilian league scoring leader Ricardo Goulart, who plays for Cruzeiro.
The match will mark the return of Dunga to the bench after he coached Brazil in the 2010 World Cup. He replaced Luiz Felipe Scolari, who was forced out after Brazil suffered a humiliating 7-1 loss to eventual champion Germany in the World Cup semifinals.
The game will be a rematch of the World Cup quarterfinals. Rodriguez, the leading scorer at the World Cup, is expected to play for Colombia.
