Task Force nabs North Miami man who tried to lure teens into prostitution

Several law enforcement agencies working together as part of a human trafficking task force arrested a North Miami man Tuesday, who they say was trying to lure two high school girls into prostitution.

David Llama Lopez, 46, was taken into custody and could face charges of procuring a minor for prostitution, contributing to the delinquincy of a minor, human trafficking and interference with child custody, the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s office said.

Told by one of the girls that he had a firearm, officers converged on Lopez’s North Miami apartment at 2100 Sans Souci Blvd. He surrendered peacefully.

The officers - part of the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Human Trafficking Unit - were from Miami, North Miami, Miami-Dade School Board police, Miami-Dade and the FBI.

“Our police agencies are now fully mobilized to attack the problem of human trafficking, something that existed just below the radar for far too long,” said State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle.
