Mercedes-Benz Corporate Run is Thursday; downtown Miami traffic affected

Up to 20,000 runners and walkers are expected to take part in Thursday evening’s annual Mercedes-Benz Corporate Run through downtown Miami — and that means street closures.

The race officially begins at 6:45 p.m. It concludes around 8 p.m. at Bayfront Park, but some closures on Biscayne Boulevard could begin as early as 2 p.m.

Motorists are encouraged to take alternate routes. Residents that live in the area will be allowed access on a “local traffic only” basis.

Here’s the race route and corresponding street closures:

Starting on Biscayne Boulevard and Flagler Street the run travels South on Biscayne Blvd to Biscayne Boulevard Way / Southeast Fourth Street and West bound to Southeast Second Avenue, then South over the Brickell Avenue Bridge to Southeast 13th Street, west on Southeast 13th Street to Southwest Second Avenue, north on Southwest Second Avenue to Northwest First Street, east on Northwest First Street to Northeast Second Avenue, north on Northeast Second Avenue to Northeast Fourth Street, east on Northeast Fourth Street to Biscayne Boulevard culminating at Bayfront Park, where a music and food festival will greet the runners.

Metrorail and Metromover will operate on a normal weekday schedule, from 5 p.m. to midnight. The following Metrobuses will be detoured:

The following routes will need to be boarded at the Culmer Metrorail station from 4:30 p.m. to approximately 10:30 p.m.

The following routes will need to be boarded at Vizcaya Metrorail station from 4:30 p.m. to approximately 10:30 p.m.

The following routes will need to be boarded at on Northwest Third Street between First and Second Avenues (at the rear of the Stephen P. Clark Government Center - SPCC) from 4:30 p.m. to approximately 10:30 p.m.
