Drugstore deals are becoming more common as pharmacies vie for business. In fact, there are actually so many different deals and programs that I can't cover all of them in one post. That's good news for all of us!!
One of the best offers available right now is at Walgreens. In this week's ad, you will find a coupon for a $25 Walgreens gift card when you transfer a prescription to Walgreens! The coupon is valid through 5/31/13. Even if you don't need a prescription filled right now, be sure to cut out the coupon and save it for future use. Some exclusions do apply to the coupon and are listed in the body of the coupon.
Even more exciting is that other stores may honor this coupon if they accept competitor's pharmacy coupons!! According to the policies shown on their websites, CVS and Publix will both accept competitor's pharmacy coupons. Target and Walmart do not specifically address the competitor pharmacy coupon issue, so I would suggest inquiring at your store.
Another unreal drugstore deal is the offer of FREE generic drugs at Publix! Get up to a 14-day supply of the following generic oral antibiotics free:
Cephalexin (capsules and suspension only)
Sulfamethoxazole/Trimethoprim (SMZ- TMP)
Ciprofloxacin (exluding Ciprofloxacin XR)
Plus Publix also offers FREE generic Metformin 500 mg, 850 mg or 1000 mg (30 day supply, up to 90 tablets) and FREE Lisinopril (30 day supply, up to 60 tablets)! Lisinopril-HCTZ products not included.
Other stores offer a selection of generic drugs for a very low cost fixed amount. Target offers $4 generic drugs. Walmart offers a $4 30 day supply and a $10 90 day supply prescription for certain generic drugs.
This is actually just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to drugstore deals. Rewards programs such as Register Rewards and Balance Rewards at Walgreens and Extra Care Bucks at CVS offer additional drugstore savings. I'll cover these in a future post.
