A freak accident on the Dolphin Expressway Monday afternoon left a westbound vehicle impaled by a guardrail.
Miraculously, the driver was not injured.
The collision between the Toyota Scion and the guardrail near the Northwest 87th Avenue exit, caused the 10-foot long heavy piece of metal to enter the vehicle through the passenger-side grill, impale the length of the car and exit through the car’s back window, smashing it.
The driver, identified as Alberto Leon, 36, was not hurt in the freak accident, but was arrested for being a habitual traffic offender and driving with a suspended driver’s license, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The car was totaled in the accident.
