Local officers head to D.C. for presidential inauguration

Officers from local police departments will be leaving to Washington D.C. Saturday morning to assist with security at Monday's presidential inauguration.

A team made up of officers from the Miami-Dade, City of Miami Beach, and City of Miami police departments will be leaving Miami-Dade police headquarters at 2:30 a.m. to catch their flight to D.C. where they will part of the historical event.

Those officers from the Miami-Dade department belong to the Rapid Development Force which specializes in crowd control tactics.
