Golden, who was out recruiting Thursday, has repeatedly said he loves it at Miami and is staying.
Chris Freet, the UM associate athletic director for communications and marketing, said UM interim athletic director Blake James spoke to Golden about it.
“Al isn’t going anywhere,’’ Freet said. “He’s 100 percent committed here.’’
Golden was awarded a contract extension a year ago. His contract runs through Feb. 1, 2020.
Wisconsin sources told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that Golden was not a candidate for the head-coaching job vacated by Brett Bielema.
When the coach was asked in his season-ending news conference about other programs targeting him to fill vacancies, he said, “To be perfectly honest with you, the only time I hear it is when you guys say it. I’m being completely honest with you. I know [My wife] would cry if I said we’re moving out of town.’’
