An 11-year-old boy helped Hollywood police capture three teens who broke into his house Thursday afternoon, while his parents were out.
When Luis Gutierrez Jr. heard the sound of shattering glass, he ran into his room, hid under his bed and called his dad. His father, Luis Gutierrez, told the boy to call 9-1-1.
As invaders went through his home, the boy stayed on the line with police.
“He was a brave little kid,” said Hollywood spokeswoman Lt. Nikki Coffin.

Hollywood police got to the home shortly after 5:45 p.m. — just in time to catch one suspect about to leave the home on the 4900 block of Johnson Street. The would-be thief went back into the house.
Meanwhile, Luis, still on the phone with the cops, told them which room he was hiding in and they rescued him through a window.
Police took three suspects — all 17-years-old — into custody. Charges are pending, Coffin said. The suspects names were not released because of their age.
