Ready, aim, fire! South Florida is home to numerous gun ranges that help both law enforcement and gun owners perfect their target shots. We’ve narrowed down a few good places where you can perfect the power of pistol packing target practice.

Trail Glades Range

Target shooters, police officers and occasional hunters gather at this rifle-pistol range that also provides a separate area for those interested in skeet and trap. Gun aficionados can also rent a rifle or a shotgun. This range is run by Miami-Dade Parks, which will explain why you’ll see so many law enforcement practicing their target shots.

Markham Park Target Range

This county-run target range includes skeet and trap, pistol/rifle range, and sporting clays course. The range has 66 lighted shooting stations with a four-hour maximum shooting time. Junior shooters who are between the ages of 10 and 17 can shoot, but must do so under the supervision of an adult. The range is closed on Mondays.

The indoor shooting range has been in business for the past 10 years and also sells a variety of hand guns. The range allows gun owners to shoot rifles as well as purchase or rent guns.

Pembroke Gun & Range

The motto for this gun range is, “We are always on target!” Its indoor firing range offers 18 shooting positions, 25 yards long. If you decide to buy a gun here, they will provide training from shotguns to rapid fire. Gun rental prices begin at $20. Range fees are $12 and targets cost between .50 and $1.25.

Big Al’s Gun Range

The 18-lane pistol only range requires target shooters to bring in a driver’s license to meet the 21 and older requirements. Shooters can rent or bring their own guns. Rentals begin at $15 per gun and a $1 charge is added for eye and ear protection. Targets range from .30 to $1.50.
