A 62-year-old woman has been arrested for allegedly stealing thousands of dollars over a 23-month period from a 93-year-old woman with limited vision.
Deborah Richardson Raing, of West Palm Beach, was charged on Thursday with grand theft from a person 65 years of age or older, after stealing nearly $89,000 from an elderly West Palm Beach resident, according to a release by the State Attorney's Office. The elderly woman relied on Raing for her daily needs.
An investigation into the 93-year-old's finances was prompted after a bank manager noticed unusual activity in her account. A West Palm Beach Police detective found that the money was stolen between 2008 and 2010.
Raing left the Palm Beach County Jail around 1:30 a.m. on Thursday after posing $15,000 bond.
