Authorities arrested a retired City of Miami police officer outside his Pembroke Pines home Thursday night on sexual battery charges.
Timothy V. Young, 53, was being held in the Broward Main Jail without bond Thursday night.
The sexual battery is alleged to have occurred in 2004 and 2006 in Pembroke Pines and involved a relative of Young's who was younger than 18 at the time, said U.S. Marshals Service Senior Inspector Barry Golden.
It's unclear when the allegations were made, but Golden said the Broward State Attorney's Office issued an arrest warrant for Young this week.

The U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force made the arrest.
Young, who retired recently, was an 18-year veteran of the Miami police department and worked as a K-9 officer, Golden said.
