For about 7 years, a group of friends have gathered on Monday and Thursday nights at 501 11th Street in Modesto, Calif. The venue is 501 Jam, a club where they can socialize over coffee and home-made cherry cobbler, reminisce about old times and departed loved ones. And they play music for the love of it. The average age of the players might be about 70, but a younger crop of musicians are plunking down the $3.00 donation and joining in to play, sing and learn from the collective wisdom and talent of their elders.

The Miami Marlins scored the fewest runs in Major League Baseball last season. Baseball Prospectus preseason PECOTA projections says the Marlins will rank 29th in batting average, 29th in on-base percentage, and last in slugging percentage.
