Sarasota has long fostered a deep arts scene, thanks in no small part to the Ringling Museum and FSU’s Asolo Repertory Theatre. Now it has an arts-themed hotel, too: Downtown’s Art Ovation Hotel opened in March. An artist-in-residence program connects guests with artists through live studio sessions, private dinners and more. The hotel’s first exhibit, opening April 12, is Legacy: An Exhibition by Ringling College of Art and Design Faculty and Alumni, presenting alumni of one of the country’s finest art schools. The hotel’s on-staff art curator, former Miamian Francine Birbragher-Rozencwaig, and culture curator Lisa DiFranza will be sure your getaway is full of creative discoveries. The $10,000 See and Be Scene package includes a weekend stay, cabana rental, sailboat, limo to the opera, and hair and makeup before your very own photo shoot.
