The newly opened Istituto Marangoni fashion school in the Miami Design District aims to turn Miami into the Milan of the Americas. The institute has spent 80 years teaching students at campuses from Paris to Shanghai, and 45,000 of them have gone on to work in the fashion industry.
Classes have already started at the dramatic Design District location, with the historic Mason building married to a seven-story modern structure behind it. It’s symbolic of the historic fashion school coming to a town that has always been defined by its modernity. 3700 Northeast Second Avenue, Miami; istitutomarangoni.com/en.
