What: A fashion blogger behind Journey of a Braid and activist for women’s and Latin American causes, she’s a Florida girl by way of Mexico, Spain, NYC, Toronto and Sweden.
Why: “People connect with my style, and that’s a big door to push another message forward,” Gómez-Ortigoza said. “Right now, I’m mostly focused on unity. And I’ve always been drawn to art and beauty, especially when there’s a deeper meaning beneath the surface.”
Three cornerstones of her look
1. CORONA BRAID “You’ll rarely see me without one. It’s a mission: Each day, as I tie off my braid, I imagine a specific action I could take to help another woman. Simply making an introduction can have a huge impact.”
2. RED LIPSTICK “Revlon ColorStay Overtime LipColor in Forever Scarlet is foolproof. I can even swipe it on in the car without making a mess. I save YSL Glossy Stain 01 for special occasions.”
3. SHAPOH FEATHERED HEADBAND “Miami-based milliner Suzy Buckley offers dozens of amazing options. They’re unexpected – I don’t like to do expected!”
