Your antidote to surge pricing during Art Basel Miami Beach: six activities that won’t cost you a dime.
1. WYNWOOD WALLS
Perhaps no other spot defines the artistic transition in Miami’s warehouse-turned-creative district, and perhaps the city overall, than Wynwood Walls, where visitors wander through street art murals that are captivating, colorful and challenging. Based on the 12 murals unveiled last year with a theme of staying brave in the face of terror, expect big-name artists behind major new pieces that will undoubtedly become the backdrop of a gazillion selfies and art ’zine features. For more on Wynwood Walls, see our cover feature on Jessica Goldman Srebnick. thewynwoodwalls.com.

2. INK MIAMI ART FAIR
You won’t find another event here that’s dedicated to modern and contemporary works on paper. And at the INK Miami Art Fair, you’ll also find one of the most unique venues, as the show turns rooms at the Suites of Dorchester hotel into mini galleries, with works sourced from international galleries. inkartfair.com.
3. WYNWOOD YARD
It’s rare for a day to pass without a series of events at the eclectic open-air food hall, swap shop and music venue that is the Wynwood Yard. Expect Reggae Sunday, the Mama & Me Bootcamp on Wednesday morning, Tiki Thursdays, and a headliner throwing down on stage for First Fridays at the Yard. Go now: This is the last year it will be open during Miami Art Week. thewynwoodyard.com.
4. THE HIVE COCKTAILS & CULINARY VILLAGE
The Hive promises an escape from the Art Week crowds, from right in the center of Wynwood. Organizers will host an oasis-like lounge with mixology presentations and a food hall-style selection of local restaurants. Hive goes for chill by day, DJ pumping at night. hivewynwood.com.
5. BASEL HOUSE MURAL FESTIVAL
Sixty artists will descend on Wynwood to create 40 large-scale murals for the Basel House Mural Festival. Aside from the three nights of free music, there will also be a robot painting a mural, a Street Skool session where you can take part in discussions, 30-plus food trucks, and more than 100 vendors. For the real street art fans, look out for works by Kelly Graval, known as RISK, an old-school graffiti artist who’s creating a 90-foot mural. baselhouse.com.
6. FREE YOGA
After all the late-night, post-show meals, maybe you need a zen way to burn it off, like these free yoga classes:
* Coconut Grove: Stretch your way to health 6-7 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays in Peacock Park and 8-9 a.m. Saturdays on the rooftop of the Mayfair Hotel. coconutgrove.com/yoga.
* Bayfront Park: It’s yoga with a bay view at 6 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursday and 9 a.m. Saturdays. bayfrontparkmiami.com.
