“What are you going to wear?” I’ve heard those words for as long as I can remember, from the time I was 6 right up until my ripe old age of… well, you get the point: This eternal fashion question never goes out of style. Early on, we ask it in an effort to belong, to blend in. I never wanted to be the girl in a flouncy white eyelet dress while my friends proudly paraded their Z. Cavaricci jeans. OK, I think I just dated myself!
Today, fashion is part inspiration, part imagination, and completely your own. This fusion is artfully expressed in our cover story by contributing stylist Elysze Held and photographer Nick Garcia, who capture Miami City Ballet dancers in page after page of stunning looks. The cover shot, which now ranks as one of my all-time INDULGE favorites, is like a personal trend board with a “mad about plaid” focus, bursting with unexpected colors and embellishments.

Its Aegean-inspired vibe surrounds you from the moment you step in. Browse this lovingly curated store, filled with artisanal home furnishings and apparel, or pause for a delectable Greek pastry and Per’La coffee. You’ll walk out with a unique treasure or a tasty treat – as well as a big smile.
Want another reason to smile? Check into the new SLS Lux Brickell for a posh Staycation. It’s an ideal base to rediscover Brickell, the focus of our Neighborhood column. We asked Ramona Messore, VP and General Manager of Saks at Brickell City Centre, to be our local guide to these booming blocks, and her picks are perfect. I’ll add one more: the corner sofa that faces east at the SLS Lux’s Secret Garden — my favorite spot.
In Dish, we deliver 20 delicious brunch spots to savor. Request an outdoor table at Amara, pairing its breathtaking Biscayne Bay views with warm yuca cheese puffs. Don’t forget to explore one of Miami’s top hotel bars — we’ve got six to recommend in Pour. I especially like the Commodore Club at The Ritz-Carlton Coconut Grove, a sophisticated lounge where you can sink into a leather sofa and soak in the richness. And, oh yeah, the cocktails rock.
