United Way of Miami-Dade is giving away $35,000 to innovative local nonprofits — and you have a chance to vote for who gets the money. The new Inspire305 initiative has selected seven relatively new nonprofit groups, all founded between 2012 and 2017, that are vying for cash prizes of $25,000 and $10,000 to help their missions.

“Through Inspire305, United Way is empowering residents to get engaged and help select an emerging nonprofit that is transforming and inspiring our community,” said Maria C. Alonso, President and CEO of United Way of Miami-Dade. “We look forward to learning about all the great things that these nonprofits are doing and partnering with them to continue to fight for a stronger Miami.”

You can learn more about the organizations and vote online. There will be other opportunities to cast votes via text message and in person before the winners are announced June 21. You can also participate in an Inspire305 event May 31 at WeWork downtown, which will feature a panel discussion led by Miami innovators and social entrepreneurs like Rebecca Fishman Lipsey of Radial Partners.
